Campaigning during and after the Covid-19 Pandemic
The Covid-19 pandemic has forced political parties to rethink how they organize campaigns. The circumstances resulted in digital infrastructure and innovative mobilization methods playing a more important role than ever before. In the United States, the Biden campaign was able to register a record voter turn-out – despite the crisis. How has campaigning during a pandemic influenced organizers and how they structure their campaigns? Equally important are the underlying ideas and issues that resonate and reflect the desires of the electorate. This session will take a closer look at lessons learned on organizing during a pandemic and debate which issues can deliver electoral victories during the next decade.
