Susanne Hennig-Wellsow

Susanne Hennig-Wellsow is a co-leader of the Left Party. Hennig-Wellsow has been a member of the Thuringian state parliament since 2004, where she was also head of the parliamentary group for seven years. Until her election as a co-leader for the Left, she was also the party's chairwoman in Thuringia. Born and raised in East Germany, she spent eight years as a city councilor in Erfurt, fighting for good jobs, affordable housing, and, above all, against Nazis.
