Martin Schulz is currently the Chairman of the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung. Schulz has been a member of the German Bundestag since December 14, 2020. Before that, he was the Chairman of the SPD, a candidate for Chancellor in 2017, and a long-serving member of the European Parliament, which he presided over as president in two terms from 2012 to 2017. He is the recipient of the Karlspreis for his significant services to strengthening the European Parliament and its democratic legitimacy.
