Hubertus Heil has been the Federal Minister of Labour and Social Affairs since 2018. He has been active in the Social Democratic Party (SPD) for over 30 years and has held various offices such as the Secretary-General of the SPD and the Deputy Chairman of the SPD parliamentary group. He studied Political Science and Sociology at the University of Potsdam and has been a member of the trade union IG Metall and the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung.
