Franziska Giffey is the candidate for governing mayor of Berlin and has been the German Federal Minister for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth. Since 2020, Franziska Giffey has been the chairwoman of the Social Democratic Party (SPD) Berlin, together with Raed Saleh. Previously, Franziska Giffey was district mayor of Berlin-Neukölln. From 2010 to 2015, she served in Neukölln as city councilor for education, schools, culture and sports. Before that, she worked for eight years as the district's European Affairs Officer.
