Empowering the Politically Abandoned: Addressing Inequalities in the 2020s
For a generation, political and economic systems across North America and Europe have too often failed in reversing inequalities. Now, Covid-19 has made inequality more visible in our societies. Too many communities are systematically excluded from the halls of economic and political power. It has proven difficult for progressives to make a convincing argument to win over these voters since the financial global crisis. Yet, Covid-19 stimulus packages at national and European level open up an opportunity for reform and investments in social and hard infrastructure.
In this session we will seek to develop solutions as to how progressives can build an electoral platform that speaks to voters in urban and rural areas alike and has a sound economic basis at its foundation reducing existing inequalities.
